Sometimes, God is trying to restore what you didn’t even know you had, let alone knew you lost.
Let that settle in.
There are things in you that life silenced.
Things that trauma stole.
Things your younger self let go of to survive.
And now… in this season of pressure and surrender, God is reaching into the unseen places to recover what’s rightfully yours.
We think we know what needs healing.
But sometimes, the restoration goes far deeper than we realize.
The Restoration Process Isn’t Random, It’s Refined
Let’s talk about restoration, real, hands on, in the natural restoration.
If you’ve ever seen someone restore an antique, then you know:
You can’t just spray it down with any cleaner and slap on fresh paint.
Restoration requires:
Precision
Gentleness
Strategic products
A trained eye
Time. Lots of it.
First, the item must be thoroughly cleaned, layers of grime removed, the surface stripped back to what’s underneath.
Not what people see…
But what’s real.
Then comes the careful repair. Not everything gets replaced. Some parts are redeemed.
Some things were meant to stay, they just needed to be revived.
Do you see it?
That’s what God is doing in you.
He’s not just wiping away the surface wounds.
He’s washing the places no one sees.
He’s reaching beneath decades of survival and self-protection.
He’s not remodeling.
He’s restoring.
Most of Us Are Walking Around Broken as if It’s Normal
If we’re honest…
It’s rare to meet someone who’s been made whole.
We normalize dysfunction.
We carry unhealed trauma like it’s a personality trait.
We defend toxic roots, not realizing they’re choking out the very life God wants to give us.
And then we feed the brokenness.
Let’s talk about it.
The music.
The movies.
The entertainment we consume in our “downtime.”
The very word “entertain” comes from Latin roots that mean:
“To hold the mind,” or “to possess the mind.”
Read that again:
To give your mind over… to be possessed.
Whew.
No wonder our healing feels delayed.
No wonder we’re overwhelmed.
No wonder it feels like restoration is just out of reach.
We’ve handed over the very mind God is trying to renew.
But God… Is Not Letting You Stay Here
God is not just healing the wounds you know about.
He’s reviving the pieces of you that were:
Overlooked
Stolen
Buried
Forgotten
This is deep work.
It’s not always pretty.
You might cry more in this season than you shout.
You might feel like you’re unraveling, but sis, that’s okay.
You’re not breaking down.
You’re being rebuilt.
He’s restoring your voice.
He’s restoring your identity.
He’s restoring your vision.
He’s restoring your mind, your joy, your inheritance.
It’s time to recover all.
We Don’t Truly Know Who We Are Until We See Ourselves in Him
That’s the truth of it.
You can’t find your real self outside of the One who made you.
Not through personality tests.
Not through self-care.
Not through grinding or glowing up.
You must go through the Cross.
Through the fire.
Through the stripping.
Only then do you begin to see yourself the way He does:
Righteous
Holy
Whole
Beautiful
Anointed
Free
A Final Word: Let Him Finish the Work
You’re being made new.
You’re being made whole.
You’re being brought back to the version of you the enemy tried to erase.
So trust the process.
Trust the Father.
Trust the healing that feels like breaking.
It’s not destruction.
It’s divine recovery.
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” (Joel 2:25 KJV)
You’re not behind.
You’re right on time for a miracle you didn’t even know you needed.

What a beautiful reflection of how God restores our soul back to him.
