When we think about deliverance, most of us envision a sudden miracle, an instant breakthrough where everything wrong is immediately made right. But what if I told you that sometimes deliverance is a mindset?
Yes, Sister, sometimes deliverance isn’t a grand, flashy moment.
It’s a subtle, daily battle.
It’s the quiet transformation happening inside you, renewing your mind, reshaping your thinking, and realigning you with God’s truth.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) reminds us clearly:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Deliverance begins when our mind begins to change.
Not just when the storm passes.
Not just when the money comes in.
Not just when the court rules in our favor.
Deliverance starts when we stop agreeing with the lies, the fear, the self-pity, and start agreeing with the truth of God’s Word.
What Kind of Deliverance Are We Looking For?
Maybe you’re facing financial hardship, homelessness, broken relationships, battles in your marriage, rejection from people you love, custody struggles over your children…
And you’re crying out: “Lord, deliver me!”
But here’s a hard, holy truth:
God might not want to change your situation… yet. He wants to change you first.
You see, true deliverance is not always the situation changing, it’s you changing.
Sometimes we’re so focused on God moving externally, that we miss the internal deliverance He’s trying to work inside us.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)
God uses suffering, hardship, and pressure to cultivate His fruit in us.
He’s not trying to just get you through the trial, He’s trying to transform you in the trial.
We Must Become the Daughters He Called Us to Be
Deliverance is not just getting out of trouble.
Deliverance is becoming the woman God created you to be.
The Daughter of Sarah.
The Daughter of the King.
The Proverbs 31 Woman.
“Whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.” 1 Peter 3:6 (KJV)
God is increasing your value, not in material things, but in character, in faith, in holiness.
He allows the suffering to continue because He’s patiently growing the fruit that will hang from your life; love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
And hear me:
The situation won’t change until you’ve changed.
Not because God is cruel, but because He’s kind.
Because He knows if He moves you prematurely, you’ll miss the eternal weight of glory He’s working inside you.
Stop Looking at the Natural, See the Spirit
When you focus only on what your natural eyes see, you’ll think you’re losing.
You’ll think you’re abandoned.
You’ll think you’re cursed.
You’ll think God’s forgotten you.
But the Spirit of God is calling you higher.
“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV)
You are richer than you realize.
Every time you pray through the pain, you’re gaining.
Every time you meditate on His Word instead of meditating on your worries, you’re gaining.
Every time you pour your heart out at His feet instead of running to a worldly escape, you’re gaining.
Your spirit is growing stronger. Your roots are going deeper. You are being made into an eternal woman of God.
Flesh Will Always Fight the Spirit
The world trained us wrong.
We were taught that feelings rule us.
We were trained to chase comfort, applause, quick success, and visible victories.
But the Bible says:
“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:
and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Galatians 5:17 (KJV)
Our fallen human nature will always resist what God is doing in the Spirit.
That’s why transformation feels painful. That’s why obedience feels unnatural. That’s why patience feels like dying.
Because in a way, it is.
It’s the death of the flesh, so the Spirit can live fully.
A Final Word of Encouragement
Sister, don’t despise this slow, painful process.
Don’t believe the lie that nothing is happening.
Don’t think you are stuck because your situation hasn’t changed.
YOU are changing.
And that’s the greatest deliverance of all.
Keep praying.
Keep meditating.
Keep seeking.
Keep obeying.
The fruit will hang heavy from your branches soon.
The glory will be seen.
And when you finally step into the promise, you’ll know, it wasn’t just about getting out.
It was about becoming everything He called you to be.
Hold on. You’re being delivered, mind, soul, and spirit.
